Ken Caryl Glass FAQs
Have questions about glass repair, replacement, custom work, or what to expect before a project starts?
These FAQs cover the questions we hear most from homeowners, businesses, contractors, and property managers across Littleton, Colorado Springs, and other Colorado communities.
What types of glass services do you offer?
We handle residential, commercial, and custom glass work. That includes window glass, patio door glass, shower doors, office glass, mirrors, tabletops, shelving, display glass, custom-cut pieces, and window film. For commercial properties, we also provide storefronts and entrances, exterior glazing, curtain wall systems, storefront doors, and commercial glass materials and fabrication.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. Give our Littleton or Colorado Springs office a call and tell us a little about the project. From there, we can arrange the next step and figure out what measurements or site details we need.
Do you work on both homes and commercial properties?
We do. One day may involve replacing residential window glass, while another project could be an office door, interior glass panel, or commercial window film installation. We also work with contractors and property managers who have larger or ongoing glass needs.
What areas do you serve?
We have shops in Littleton and Colorado Springs and work in many surrounding Colorado communities. If your property is outside those immediate areas, call the closest branch. We can tell you pretty quickly if the project falls within our service area.
How long has Ken Caryl Glass been in business?
Since 1984. The company started small and has grown into a residential, commercial, and custom glass operation with two Colorado locations.
What happens when you come out for an estimate?
First, we look at what is already there. That may mean checking the opening, frame, hardware, damaged glass, or the area where a custom piece will go. Measurements come next. We can then talk through the glass type, hardware, film, or other details that make sense for that particular job.
Why does the glass need to be measured first?
Glass is not something we like to guess on. A small measurement difference can cause problems with shower doors, insulated glass units, mirrors, tabletops, or custom pieces. Hardware locations and surrounding materials can matter too.
How fast can broken glass be replaced?
It depends on the glass. A straightforward piece may move fairly quickly. Tempered glass, insulated units, laminated glass, specialty shapes, and custom pieces can take longer because they may need to be ordered or fabricated.
Do you keep all glass in stock?
No, and for custom work that would not make much sense. Some common glass may be available, but many pieces are cut, ordered, or fabricated to suit a particular opening. Shower glass and insulated window units are good examples.
Can you replace the glass without replacing the whole window?
Sometimes, yes. If the frame and the rest of the window are still in good shape, the failed glass may be the only part that needs attention. We see this with cracked panes and failed insulated glass units quite a bit.
Why is there moisture between my window panes?
That usually points to a failed seal in an insulated glass unit. The moisture is trapped between the panes, so cleaning the inside or outside surface will not clear it. In that situation, replacing the sealed glass unit may be the next step.
Can you repair an existing shower door?
In some cases. Loose hardware, alignment problems, hinges, or other components may be worth repairing. If the enclosure is damaged, worn out, or no longer a good fit for the space, replacement may make more sense.
What shower door styles do you offer?
We work with framed, semi-frameless, frameless, and specialty shower door systems. The choice is not just about looks. Opening size, wall angles, hardware, glass weight, and budget can all change what works best.
Do you install 3M™ Window Film?
Yes. Ken Caryl Glass is a 3MTM Authorized Window Film Dealer, and our technicians are Certified 3MTM Installers. We offer 3MTM film for residential and commercial glass, including options for solar control, UV protection, safety, and security.
Can you make custom glass?
Yes. We work with custom mirrors, tabletops, shelving, cabinet glass, display cases, curved glass, decorative glass, laminated glass, plexiglass, and other custom-cut pieces. For those jobs, the details matter. Size, thickness, edge finish, mounting, and how the glass will be used all affect the final piece.
